Teton was a beautiful fawn herdsire, with fleece exhibiting excellent lock structure, coverage, and luster. Over the years Teton was one of the most consistent herdsires to grace LCA's pastures and he produced offspring with excellent conformation and bright luster. A Teton son won best luster at the 2006 Suri Symposium fleece show, which to date is the largest suri fleece show ever held in the world. His offspring consistently did very well in the shows including LCA Elody, who was Supreme Champion at the IAO 2003 in Del Mar California!
Teton's pedgree is second to none. His sire is the famous Uribe (aka Durazno). Teton's dam was one of the first suri females that Jack and Kelly purchased. 2P Martina constantly produced show winner after show winner. Her son, LCA Winchester, is our primary black stud. One of Teton's offspring, Tejas, was sold to Australia in October 2003, and his offpring are performing well in the Australian shows.
Teton will be missed, not only for his outstanding production, but also for his easy-going pleasant personality. He truly was a great representative of the suri alpaca!
